yesterday, bwe reported more obscenities going on over at opie and anthony's xm radio show. wednesday the duo shock jocks had a guest they call "homeless charlie" on for a segment in which he describes that he wants to f--k condoleeza rice--as in, the us secretary of state (like there's another condi rice).
the radio clip (NSFW), is really obscene and (although i'm not really a supporter of this administation) very offensive. as a woman, i'd hate to be talked about this way by anyone. hell, i get the heebie jeebies when guys yell "hey mami" or "god bless you, girl" while staring awkwardly at me on the nyc sidewalks. being that opie and anthony are on satellite radio, i really didn't think they'd apologize for anything. but maybe in the post-imus world, they felt like they better cover their asses. after all, these were the same guys that got fired from their terrestrial radio show for having two of their listeners have sex in st. patrick's cathedral.
in their apology, they said:
"We apologize to the public officials for comments that we made on our XM show on May 9th. We take very seriously the responsibility that comes with our creative freedom and regret any offense that this segment has caused."
a rep for xm (i.e. publicist doing major damage control) made this statement on today: "We deplore the comments made on Wednesday's 'Opie and Anthony Show." no information on whether the duo will be repremanded.
i guess now that paris hilton is going to jail, deejays feel guilty if they talk about having sex with her. but the next target in line being condi rice?? you just don't talk about a government official like that.
