george maloof supports paris (sorta)

it is known that paris hilton loves to party in vegas. sometimes at the palms. after all, she's basically bff's (maybe once bff's with benefits if you catch my drift) with george maloof, one of the owners of the palms resort and casino in las vegas.

this is what the marquee looks right now:

awww, they love her. oh wait, what's that? it reads "trip" in really tiny font right below the huge "free paris" wording. what's that? it's really a promotion for their bistro buffet. apparently when you buy a meal at the buffet you get a chance at winning a free trip to paris. ahhhh. sneaky.

in related news, the la times is reporting that paris might only have to serve half of her 45 day jail sentence.

what happens in vegas, will definintely NOT stay in vegas this time around

at first i thought mtv having the vmas in last vegas was the worst idea in the world. it seems that wherever mtv has an event, venues never want them there again. then i realized, this is SIN CITY. this is where mobsters ruled. this is a place that thrives on gambling and nightclubs. this is totally the PERFECT match.

another break in tradition is that apparently the awards show will only air ONCE (as opposed to every night for a month sorta rotation that mtv loves).

"After the show's lone airing, viewers will have a chance to customize the show and build their own versions of the VMAs across multiple platforms. Details about VMA customization — as well as nominees, performers and presenters — are expected in the coming weeks. "

this marks the fourth city in which the vmas will have taken place. besides longtime runs in new york city, and twice in miami, los angeles has also hosted the event.

one thing's for sure, whatever the celebs do while they're in town will definitely not stay in vegas this time around. page six will be all over that shit.

the show will air live on sunday, september 9th.
