here are some clips of ann coulter still saying disrespectful things about john edwards and his family. and also a clip of elizabeth edwards (his wife) calling into chris matthews' show while coulter was his guest.
i think i hate her more than i did now. i didn't even think that was remotely possible. the thing about wishing john edwards dead is RIDICULOUS and completely out of line...even for her. i'd say the title "godless" should be applied right back to her after this week.

a look back at the sopranos finale
so it's been half a week now since the sopranos series finale, which means we've had time to reflect on the episode for a few days now. and although some interesting theories have manifested (i.e. that tony died), and others have debunked said theories.bwe has posted a video showing how the finale could've been worse...although i'll take a finale ending with an imogen heap song any day. take a look at the video below to see how the sopranos could have ended.

sawyer teaches us a thing or two about acting.
who would've thought that there was more than one way to convey "son of a bitch"? i sure as hell didn't think so. and without further adieu, the sawyer method: son of a bitch 101:

the healing process begins
it's been nearly a week since the infamous heated debate between rosie and elisabeth that caused rosie to leave the view three weeks earlier than scheduled. but who can blame her? i wouldn't want to go back (although i really wish she would, because the view will suck without her).
here's a message from barbara and elisabeth. apparently "the healing process" has begun, and rosie is welcome to come back "whenever she wants".
i think i'll side on team rosie on this one. and maybe sign this petition in the meantime.

girlfight- rosie and elisabeth, round 157
ever since rosie arrived on the view in september, it became eminent that elisabeth and rosie would square off politically at least once a week. and that's pretty much exactly what's happened. this is the third day in a row (or at least the third day) that they have talked about rosie's comments that led to fox news saying "rosie thinks our troops our terrorists". being that i can't stand fox news and most definitely don't agree with anything that comes out of elisabeth's mouth, i'm gonna side with rosie on this one. if anything because once she leaves, the view is gonna be BO-RING! but anyway, in case you haven't read about or seen this clip in 6,583 other blogs, here you go.

john mayer: singer. songwriter. comedian.
this weekend, john mayer made a surprise appearance at nyc's comedy cellar.* now, he's definitely a better musican than a comedian, but to be honest, he's not that bad. it's no "john mayer has a tv show" (which was a fantastic show. i don't care what anyone says). but a good effort. and fortunately for you, someone got part of his stand up on tape and put it on youtube. so although i'm sure they were praying for another michael richards incident, instead you get jokes about carrie underwood. check it out:
*sidenote: he is friends with regular cellar performer sherrod small, so this actually shouldn't be that surprising.

mcconaughey has lost his marbles for realsies this time
tmz has posted a link on their website to a video of matthew mcconaughey that, in my opinion, is crazier than playing bongos naked. don't think it's possible? take a look at this video of freebird matt jumping around with palm tree leaves in each hand and covered in mud and jumping around. it's as weird as it sounds. and even if it's a scene from his upcoming movie surfer dude, i still think he's effin' nuts.

screw the axe effect, i'm on the bruce campbell bandwagon
take this commercial for old spice. yep, OLD SPICE. just hearing the brand makes me think gross and stinky. but throw in bruce campbell, this commercial equals AMAZINGNESS. add in cool duran duran song, it belongs in the awesome hall of fame. so without further adieu, bruce campbell singing a la richard cheese and lounge against the machine, but waaaaay cooler.

for whatever reason, the geen execs over at warner bros decided to spend money advertising on the survivor: fiji finale last night, which is beyond me since 10 year olds don't watch that junk. and neither do i. but i do paruse different websites, which is how i was lucky enough to find this new :30 second spot. and no, before you ask, i wasn't on emma-watson.net. so without further adieu, enjoy this new harry potter trailer. I. CAN'T. WAIT.

recap: the office- "beach games"
first of all, let me say god bless jeff zucker for creating the concept of supersized episodes. with that said, last night's office episode was hilarious!
*spoiler alert! if you haven't watched the office "beach games" episode from 5.10.07 (shame on you), don't continue reading.*
the episode starts off hilariously with dwight in michael's office, trying to figure out what's "medically wrong" with michael. dwight asks him when he started feeling sick. michael replies "about 10 minutes ago." dwight replies back, "you mean when i brought in the paperwork?"
pam: About 40 times a year, Michael gets really sick, but has no symptoms. Dwight is always gravely concerned.
dwight tells him to point at the part where it hurts so he can help diagnose him.
dwight: you have to point to a specific part of the body.
michael: right there.
dwight: “abdomen. menses.”
michael: maybe.
dwight: “the uterus contracts after your egg passes through it.”
michael: not it. I don’t have eggs.
pam comes in and tells michael that he has a call from the CFO of dunder-mifflin. david (the CFO) tells michael that he's calling because michael is being considered for a job at corporate. after embarassing himself for a few moments (spilling the details about "breaking jan's heart"), david tells him to drive to ny the following week with his figures along with a recommendation for his replacement in scranton.
the next day, the staff is dressed and ready for "a day at the beach". of course michael is wearing his sandals t-shirt under his hawaiian shirt. after telling poor toby that he can't go (because "someone has to stay at the office"), the rest of the crew boards the party bus. michael tells them that they'll all be participating in "fun activities. fun-tivities" (my favorite line of the night). everyone but pam is allowed to participate. michael tells her she has to take notes for him on everyone's performance so he can evaluate them later.
they arrive at the lake and michael picks team captains (dwight, jim, stanley, and andy). they each pick team names.
meanwhile, pam is by the coals and works up the courage to walk across them. she then approaches the staff and says she's been trying to be more honest lately. she asks everyone (rhetorically) why they didn't go to her art show. she says she feels invisible at the office. but the biggest revelation, she tells jim she called off her wedding for him! along with other crap. it was fantastic!

dwight: we will be called gryffindor.
jim: really? not slytherin?
dwight: Slytherin are the bad guys, jim.
jim: i know. okay, we will be voldemort.
dwight: he who must not be named? I wouldn’t do that.
jim: vol-de-mort, vol-de-mort …
stanley picks "blue team" and andy picks "team usa". michael reluctantly tells the staff that they're all competing to be his replacement because he's being considered for a job at corporate. later we see jim and karen talking to david the CFO on the phone saying they want to be considered for the corporate job. they take part in various activities (carrying an egg on a spoon blindfolded, hot dog eating contest, sumo wrestling, and walking across fire).no one wants to walk across the fire until michael does it, so he attempts to, but chickens out.
dwight shows michael his dedication and walks across the coals (and burns himself).
later we see michael talking to the staff telling them that they're going to have "tribal council" and vote. he asks jim to reveal why he would be a good replacement. jim tells michael he doesn't want to be considered for the regional manager job because he's going to meet with david in ny about the corporate job.

pam: hey, i want to say something. i’ve been trying to be more honest lately and i just need to say a few things. i did the coal walk! just, i did it. michael, you couldn’t even do that. maybe i should be your boss. wow, i feel really good right now. why didn’t any of you come to my art show? i invited all of you. that really sucked. it’s like sometimes, some of you act like i don’t even exist. jim, i called off my wedding because of you. and now we’re not even friends. and things are just like weird between us, and that sucks. and i miss you. you were my best friend before you went to stamford. and i really miss you. i shouldn’t have been with roy, and there were a lot of reasons to call off my wedding. but the truth is, i didn’t care about any of those reasons until i met you. and now you’re with someone else, and that’s fine. it’s … whatever. that’s not what i’m … i’m not … okay my feet really hurt. the thing that i’m just trying to say to you, jim, and to everyone else in the circle i guess, is that i miss having fun with you. just you, not everyone in the circle. okay, i am gonna go walk in the water now. yeah, it’s a good day.
michael: pam, that was amazing. but i am still looking for someone with a sales background.
if you missed last night's episode, nbc released a promo for next week's finale. the promo doesn't have any new scenes, but it does make for a good recap of last night. and there's stuff that i didn't include in the recap. but you should watch the 40 minutes of goodness for yourself. if you can't, watch the promo here:

movie p-review: blonde ambition
the trailer for jessica simpson's new movie was released this week. and before i even get to that, i will say that i still haven't seen jessica's other movies (dukes of hazzard, employee of the month). upon seeing the trailer for this movie, it looks like i'll be 0 for 3.blonde ambition stars jessica as a small town girl whose boyfriend moves to nyc. willie nelson (i have no idea who he plays) gives her a bus ticket to go visit her boyfriend, only to find him in bed with someone else. somehow luke wilson, rachel leigh cook, and andy dick are integral to the plot.
so take a looksie. i would tell jessica not to quit her day job, but singing doesn't seem to be making money for her these days. so i guess i don't mind the movies. i just won't go see them. and as for luke wilson, that guy needs a new agent.

"ain't no party like a scranton party, cause a scranton party don't stop!"
attention all office fans! we are getting closer and closer to having a long-rumored office convention in scranton. i never in my life thought i would be this excited at the possibility of traveling to scranton, pennsylvania.
in two weeks, two of the show's stars (angela kinsey and brian baumgartner) will be in scranton for hang out with the fans.
if i weren't going out of town on the 19th, i might actually head out there. but i'm holding out for the full-out party (at the celebrity breakfast to be held, it says there will be a special announcement about plans for the office convention in scranton). click here to see the flyer and info for the events on the 19th with angela and brian.
and just as a special treat, check out the nbc promo for this week's episode titled "beach games".

video of the day: pulp muppets
jim henson was a huge part of my childhood. i used to watch everything muppet related (the muppets take manhattan, anyone?). exactly a decade later, quentin tarantino came out with one of the defining movies of the 90s (ever heard of a little movie called pulp fiction?). never in my wildest dreams would i have imagined to somehow blend these two things together. but they go together like coffee and cream.
some genius decided to re-edit the trailer for pulp fiction with muppets, and the end result? pulp muppets. c'est magnifique comme un royale avec fromage! if you need help with the translation, go here.
