movie p-review: nicolas cage's next mediocre movie sure to be a box office hit

while on IMDB today, i noticed the "top 5 movie trailers" in the corner of the screen, and number one was national treasure: book of secrets. yes, that is a sequel to the 2004 movie starring nicholas cage.
upon further investigation, it seems nicolas cage (or his agent) has figured out the secret formula to success. it's like he does a few movies that are just as shitty as the next and they do so-so at the box office. then all of a sudden, one of those shitty movies (i.e. ghost rider) strikes box office gold!

so while i won't go see this in the movie theater, i might secretly add it to my blockbuster queue. if you must see the trailer, head over to yahoo! movies.

p.s. how they got helen mirren to do this movie is beyond me.

Comedy of the Year: The Wicker Man

I've never seen The Wicker Man, but apparently I need to because I didn't know it was a comedy! I pretty much hate Nicolas Cage in everything he's done except for Adaptation, but this looks awesomely bad. I can't decide which scene is my favorite: When he's wearing a bear costume and run-slaps a woman, or when he's screaming his face off as he's being attacked by bees. Nic Cage's bad acting certainly redefines the meaning of "horror."
