i'm not exactly sure what my reaction was when i found out that a few different actors (including a woman) would be playing bob dylan in the biopic i'm not there. and after seeing the trailer, i'm not sure what to think, but at least i'm confident it won't suck now.

i don't know why i let the cast bother me so much. i mean, cate blanchett? the woman has like a zillion oscar nominations and was truly amazing and believable as kat hepburn. i'm sure she'll convince me she's a man (maybe not as much as hilary swank though). heath ledger and christian bale? done and done. although richard gere. eh. i'll let that one slide.

i mean, in years past, we've had ellen degeneres and jon stewart. and hell, conan o'brien hosted last year. we've gone from today's comedians to RYAN EFFIN' SEACREST? yes, he does a great job of hosting AI, but due partly to the sexual tension between him and simon. unless he's going to be interating with simon cowell in the audience (is he even invited?), i'm not sure i want to watch this.

so my friend and i went to go see superbad last night along with everyone else in america because the movie made over $30 million this weekend.

it seems that judd apatow seems to have the midas touch when it comes to comedies these days. i mean, ever since 40 year old virgin, this guy had raked in some serious dough. but so far, knocked up and superbad have delivered the funny. and while in the theater waiting for the hilarity begin, my friend and i saw yet another apatow produced movie coming soon to a theater near you. it's basically a walk the line parody called walk hard, starring john c. reilly and everyone's favorite receptionist jenna fischer. in case you haven't seen the trailer yet, watch it below.

now i've gone to ikea and seen the awesome star shaped ice trays, but this is definitely cooler than that. granted at $7.99 it costs about 8 times as much as the star shaped ice tray, but i'd much definitely have lego shaped cubes than stupid regular rectangle ones. or dare i even say, shaved ice. bleugh.

paris hilton's interview on larry king last night was as exciting as watching paint dry (so i've heard...i didn't watch). the media is trashing how she presented herself, but it probably was huge in the ratings for cnn. but hopefully not, and this could be the beginning of the world not caring about paris hilton anymore.

it's official. the spice girls are reuniting for a mini-world tour. i've already marked my calendar busy for december 11th.

my new favorite website is soundpedia, in case you were wondering. you can listen to almost any album on there. i think i'll listen to some spice girls to hype myself up for said reunion.

leave it to vh1 to develop a reality show "inspired by ugly betty" that follows "unattractive" women (their words, not mine) and throws them to the pits of the fashion industry. ugh.

dear producers and casting directors of harry potter and the half-blood prince,

i saw that you're holding a casting call for the role of lavender brown (aka, ron weasley's first girlfriend). however, i noticed that there is a request that the girls be between the ages of 15-18. may i remind you of a little thing called "discrimination"? i don't know how it works in the UK, but here in the states, we frown upon that crap. and may i remind you that it's called acting? i mean, some of america's biggest tv shows have had 30 and 40 year olds playing teenagers (90210 ring a bell?). i'm not even 27 yet, so i can most definitely look like an 18 year old.

also, i realize there aren't many (if any) hispanic brits that exist, but why not start with the role of lavender brown. would it help if i got jk rowling to sign off on it?

what do i have to do here to get my big break? oh also, if you could fly me out to london so that i can attend said casting call at the earls court exhibition center, that would be most helpful. and accomodations at the ritz-carlton would be nice.

movie p-review: nicolas cage's next mediocre movie sure to be a box office hit

while on IMDB today, i noticed the "top 5 movie trailers" in the corner of the screen, and number one was national treasure: book of secrets. yes, that is a sequel to the 2004 movie starring nicholas cage.
upon further investigation, it seems nicolas cage (or his agent) has figured out the secret formula to success. it's like he does a few movies that are just as shitty as the next and they do so-so at the box office. then all of a sudden, one of those shitty movies (i.e. ghost rider) strikes box office gold!

so while i won't go see this in the movie theater, i might secretly add it to my blockbuster queue. if you must see the trailer, head over to yahoo! movies.

p.s. how they got helen mirren to do this movie is beyond me.

a new character has been cast on heroes.

according to tvguide:

remember that downer of an episode where they killed off nurse laverne for no reason? well, looks like laverne might be back. don't worry, they won't be bringing her back from the dead in a "very special episode" or anything.

When "Scrubs" creator Bill Lawrence decided last season to kill off Nurse Laverne Roberts -- one of the show's key supporting characters -- he made a promise to thesp Aloma Wright.

Should "Scrubs" return for a seventh season, he told Wright, she could don a new wig and play Laverne's twin sister, Shirley.

When Lawrence first plotted Nurse Roberts' death, he was pretty certain that "Scrubs" was in its final year. Mapping out the final year's storylines, he decided the death of a series regular would help shake things up.

so looks like instead of the married, church-lovin' laverne we all know, the actress will be playing a single, alcoholic who shuns religion. kinda sounds like dr. cox as a black woman.

according to people magazine, julia roberts gave birth to a baby boy today.

Julia Roberts has welcomed her third child, a boy named Henry Daniel Moder. Henry was born Monday in Los Angeles and weighed 8½ lbs. "The Moder family is doing great," Roberts's rep, Marcy Engelman, tells PEOPLE exclusively.

i like ben folds. seen him in concert twice. and although i haven't bought his newest album, i'm sure it's fun and snazzy. so as far as i know, he's promoting an album becuase he's on tour with john mayer this summer.

sounds like he's keeping busy, right? well today, pop candy reported that ben folds is going to go on a carnival cruise next february...and everyone's invited (as long as you pay). yeah, a cruise from miami to jamaica with ben folds. seriously. i'm not sure why. i'm not sure how it came about. but regardless, i will say that a cruise to a tropical climate in the dead of winter sounds FABULOUS.

this morning, the ny post's cindy adams "reported" (i use that term loosely) that kevin federline was going to be a dad again. apparently shar jackson is said to be 7 weeks pregnant.

in a battle of the gossip rags, us magazine retaliated with an official statement from shar jackson herself, denying any pregnancy rumors. according to her rep (she has representation?), "it is not even remotely true."

i don't know why some people are in a hurry for kevin federline to create more spawn and bring them into this world. as far as i know, he doesn't have a job, he's divorced, and has four kids. i'd say he should worry about all that first before having another baby. and perhaps focus on getting another sugar mama.

so it's been half a week now since the sopranos series finale, which means we've had time to reflect on the episode for a few days now. and although some interesting theories have manifested (i.e. that tony died), and others have debunked said theories.

according to star magazine, it looks like abc has decided to offer whoopi goldberg a spot on the view.

whoopi has an impressive resume, including a tony, emmy, and oscar win under her belt. not to mention that she's the host of a daily radio show in the morning. also, rosie has endorsed whoopi as a suitable replacement for her on her blog.

no official announcement has been made. but something tells me it won't be nearly as big as the media frenzy as when rosie was hired.

supergirl to join the cast of smallville

the cw issued a press release today mentioning that the supergirl character would be joining the cast of smallville next season. this would be just yet another addition to the ever-growing stable of dc comics characters on the show (i.e. the flash, aquaman, the green lantern).

the cw had this to say about the new character:

On SMALLVILLE, the seventh season premiere kicks off with the arrival of Supergirl, whose name is Kara, as Clark's (Tom Welling) 19-year-old cousin. She was born on Krypton and is the daughter of Zor-El, Jor-El's brother. Kara possesses all of Clark's powers and one he doesn't yet have ?? she can fly! Kara also has a strong, rebellious streak that puts her at odds with Clark, and puts her onto Lex's (Michael Rosenbaum) radar. In addition, she takes a romantic interest in Jimmy Olsen (Aaron Ashmore).

they are holding casting calls right now, but let me suggest a few names:

1) kristen bell. she just recently lost her job on the now defunct veronica mars. i could totally see her as the spunky cousin of clark kent. and she was on a cw show before.

2) alexis bledel. again, recently lost her job as rory gilmore on gilmore girls. and the only thing she has going on right now is the sequel to the sisterhood of the traveling pants. the girl needs a job. again, previously on the cw.

3) amanda bynes. veteran tv actress. might be a bit too busy focusing on her "movie" career. but last i looked she has nothing on her plate besides hairspray, which completed production forevs ago. then again, she seems like she could be a little too annoying.

4) ashley olsen. since sis mary-kate decided to stand on her own two feet and appear on showtime's weeds, why doesn't ashley follow in her footsteps and return to acting.

paris to barbara: "i will never again drink and drive"

this morning on the view, barbara walters spoke with kathy hilton (mom of jailbird paris hilton) when paris herself rang on the other line and asked to speak to barbara.

now i haven't watched the view today, but here's a transcript of what paris told wawa:

On life after jail: I want to do different things when I’m out of here. I used to act dumb. It was an act. And that act is no longer cute. It’s not who I am, nor do I want to be that person for the young girls who looked up to me. I’m 26-years-old and it’s a different time.

On finding God: I’ve become much more spiritual. God has given me this new chance. My spirit or soul did not like the way I was being seen and that is why I was sent to jail. God has released me.

On future projects: Hilton would like to help in the field of breast cancer [her maternal grandmother suffered from the disease]) or Multiple Sclerosis [her paternal grandmother was afflicted with the illness]. She might get toy companies to build a Paris Hilton playhouse for children, where sick children might come.

On passing the time behind-bars: Walters said Hilton has been reading newspapers like the LA Times and The Wall Street Journal. She is also reading books like The Secret, The Power of Now and The Bible. On learning her lesson the hard way: I will never again drink and drive.

i'm not sure what my favorite part is...when she said she "acted" dumb and that 26-year old girls don't do that....that she reads the WSJ...that she's found God...or that she's reading the secret. even from behind bars she has found a way to annoy me.

recap: the sopranos series finale

as a person who hadn't watched the sopranos regularly for the last few seasons, even i was anticipating the much hyped (and very secretive) series finale.

then after watching the episode, it made me wish i had just watched a rerun of desperate housewives.

*SPOILER ALERT* if you didn't watch last night's episode, you might want to stop reading.

after a violent second to the last episode (with the new york mob killing bobby and shooting silvio), it looked like the series finale would be a bloodbath and end with a bang so to speak. not to mention the surprise twist of dr. melfi dumping tony as a patient. but last night's biggest scene was new york mob boss phil leotardo getting shot in the back of the head in front of his wife and infant grandchildren. and on top of that, his head getting RUN OVER.

i will say that i chuckled at the scenes between paulie and tony and the stray cat. they provided some sort of comic relief (aj's scenes also provided a good chuckle--the army, trump, afghanistan) but in the end, paulie didn't sell tony out and continued working for him. but all the other scenes were the epitome of anti-climactic. tony's visit with his uncle junior was uneventful. but of course the scene everyone was talking about this morning...the final sequence with the family meeting at a restaurant for dinner. and between meadow having trouble parallel parking her car and people walking into the diner while tony's family is eating onion rings at the table, i was sure something would happen. all that tension! all the suspense! and in the end, NOTHING. cut to black. nothing for about 10 seconds. end credits. the end.

critics and audiences finally agreed on something...the finale left A LOT to be desired.

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Hotel heiress Paris Hilton was let out of prison early on Thursday morning and will spend the rest of her sentence for violating probation confined to her home, the Los Angeles sheriff said.
She was fitted with an electronic monitoring device on her ankle and sent home, where she will be confined for 40 days, said Steve Whitmore of the L.A. County Sheriff's office.
He said the decision was made for medical reasons.

SERIOUSLY? MEDICAL REASONS? like what? genital herpes? anorexia? ugh.

so much for 23 paris-free days.

after two weeks of being in release, pirates of the caribbean: at world's end managed to keep the top spot at the box office. despite heavy advertising, critical praise, and word of mouth buzz, the judd apatow comedy knocked up came in at number two (although it did make a respectable $29 million). i'm happy that mr. brooks only made 10 million. not because i'm still mad at kevin costner for waterworld, but because whoever cast dane cook in that movie should be fired. and lastly, thank goodness shia lebeouf still has a movie in the top 10. here's the rest of the top 10:

all of that aside, paris hilton finally surrendered herself to authorities. that is of course after an afternoon of partying at the mtv movie awards. too bad people were making numerous jokes at her expense and cheering on the fact that she would be going to jail in a matter of hours.

well, what do you do when you've had a life as interesting as rosie o'donnell's? the way i see it, one (or more) of three things happens:

rosie chose option number three. according to the associated press:

kelly clarkson's third album "my december" comes out later this month (june 26), but aol has short excerpts of three of the songs on the album (in addition to "never again"). i will say that "sober", "can i have a kiss" and "maybe" do show a lot more rawness and emotion. all i have to say is hell hath no fury like a woman scorn. some dude totally effed her up. all of these songs are about breaking up and heartbreak. MAJOR downer. but with that said, there's always room for some of that music. somewhere there's a 14 year old (or 26 year old like me) that is pissed and needs to let it all out. so, let it all out girl. let it all out. i'll buy the album. i promise.

it's finally here! the new judd apatow movie knocked up comes out today. and unless you've been living under a rock away from all things pop culture, you would know that already. i already bought my tix on fandango (confirmation number 219091125... thank you very much). and after seeing a fun segment about judd apatow and his cool geekdom on nightline, it just made me that much more exicted to see this movie. not to mention a bit reminiscent of how cool freaks and geeks was.

some of my friends have gone to see the movie, and i've heard it's pretty awesome and hilarious as expected. and after seeing this international trailer (which is way cooler cause it's just pretty much one scene, curse words included). check it out for yourself and buy that movie ticket!

although the ny daily news reported that alex rodriguez's wife cynthia packed up her bags (true), it was sorta insinuated that she like, LEFT.

but yesterday, alex and his wife were seen holding hands (read: photo-op for the paparazzi) in boston. so she pack up her bags, but she left to meet up with her (possibly cheater) husband and possibly make ammends.

i don't know. as a woman, i should be furious with this. i would be PISSED if i ever found out someone cheated on me. especially if i were a married woman. at the same time, i really want to believe he didn't do anything with the mystery blond.

anyway, a-rod is quoted saying that his antics won't affect his game. and being that they're playing boston this weekend, let's hope it doesn't. they need every win they can get.

according to the ny daily news, paris hilton is going to keep a diary during her 23-day jail stint and turn it into a book. she will of course no doubtedly make millions. i won't buy it, but i'll be happy to read what she writes about as it will turn up on the internet i'm sure.

also, paris has apparently hired a hair & makeup team to get her ready when she reports to jail: Sources say the jail-bound heiress has ordered a hair and makeup team to meet her at her Hollywood Hills home at 9 a.m. Monday. It's understood that the glamorous inmate-to-be plans to turn the perp walk into a catwalk, and she wants the media to see her looking her best.

leave it to paris to turn going to jail into a red carpet event. at least i'll be living a paris-free life for 23 days.

farrelly brothers and stiller reunite for heartbreak

well, after a string of directing and producing bad movies, looks like the farrelly brothers might have a good movie coming out this year (i mean, remember stuck on you? and the ringer?) the trailer for their new movie the heartbreak kid is out on yahoo! movies. the movie stars ben stiller (nine years after there's something about mary) as a man who's afraid to committ, but finally marries who he thinks is the woman of his dreams. but when his new bride starts acting crazy, he meets another woman on his honeymoon. my description sounds a little too romantic comedy, but it looks pretty hilarious. oh, and did i mention rob corddry is in it? and jerry stiller? yeah, starting to sound better already. well it's a good thing lindsay's in rehab and she has her dad to help intervene with her substance abuse problem, otherwise she'd end up looking like jack from lost (get it, cause he was hooked on oxycontin. get it?).

on a related note, it seems lindsay is "happy in rehab". if she really is happy in rehab, then something is definitely wrong. you're supposed to be going through withdrawal and unhappy and miserable in rehab. someone send these celebrities to a real rehab facility in nebraska, or somewhere else in the middle of america. keep them there til they accomplish all twelve steps. then take it from there.

apparently on-again/off-again couple john mayer and jessica simpson went on a little holiday in cabo san lucas, mexico. but by the looks of these photos, looks like they might very well be headed toward off-again.

according to the ny post, rosie o'donnell's cheif writer on the view was escorted out of the building for drawing mustaches on pictures of co-host elisabeth hasselbeck that hang in the view offices.

The Post's Adam Buckman reports ABC confirmed in a statement only that "photographs at 'The View's' offices were defaced. Rosie O'Donnell was not in the building. dear AI producers,

let me just say that i'm glad ~~you guys picked~~ america voted jordin sparks as the winner. i love blake lewis, but let's face it, they're both winners at this point, so it doesn't matter anyway. clive davis probably already has both of their mega-produced albums all planned out already.

i was happy to see melinda dolittle perform with the winans (not to be confused with the wayans). and the boy and girl medleys were cute. and thank goodness that you got permission to sing beatles songs. now if you could only get michael jackson to approve his catalogue, you'll be all set.

i will say this though, WTF!?!?!?! my DVR cut off before you got anywhere close to announcing the winner. i was still watching the end of some blake and jordin performance or some crap. and while it was fun to bring back the bush baby and his friend, were that many golden statues really necessary? you're not the oscars. you're not the emmys (in fact, you turned down to produce the emmys this year to focus on idol). remember the whole point of this two hour finale? so we can reveal the winner??!?! thanks to your show running long, my dvr cut off and i had to watch some news program recap it in 30 seconds (which to be honest, is all i should've watched anyway).

watching past idols was fun. but this year's show was a snoozefest compared to last year (clay aiken and his superfan, crying hasselhoff, mother f**king PRINCE!). although you did bring back the crying girl (and sanjaya) and a sentimental jerry springer, it just wasn't the same. and as for the non-past idol winner performers, it just showed me how much smokey robinson, gladys knight, and tony bennett have aged. and way to try and up the "cool factor" by bringing in green day. *sidenote: really green day? american idol? i expect better from you. and sanjaya and joe perry? music might as well be dead.

i'm glad jordin took the crown, but you let me down. actually, i'm glad you're not producing the emmys. just focus on what you do best: going city to city in search of the next superstar (i.e. just slightly better than karaoke singer).

ever since rosie arrived on the view in september, it became eminent that elisabeth and rosie would square off politically at least once a week. and that's pretty much exactly what's happened. this is the third day in a row (or at least the third day) that they have talked about rosie's comments that led to fox news saying "rosie thinks our troops our terrorists". being that i can't stand fox news and most definitely don't agree with anything that comes out of elisabeth's mouth, i'm gonna side with rosie on this one. if anything because once she leaves, the view is gonna be BO-RING! but anyway, in case you haven't read about or seen this clip in 6,583 other blogs, here you go.

preview: tonight's american idol- the final two, night two

so last night, jordin and blake took the stage at the famed kodak theater and performed their "greatest hits"...or songs they have already performed this season, with the exception of the last song titled "this is my now". the song was the winner of a submission contest and i will say that although still cheesy, still way better than last year's "do i make you proud?". and with that said, simon and randy did remind the viewers that above all, american idol is a singing competition. so with that said, i pick jordin as the winner. although, never underestimate the power of the 12 year old girls (aka, blake's fanbase). highlights from last night's episode:
-random c-list celebs (aka, kathy griffin).
-ryan seacrest calling paula/her dog "a bitch" (we all know he was talking about paula).
-seeing jordin choke up toward the end of singing her last song. that girl knows she's gonna win.
-paula (and her hair) looking like a complete mess
-paula having complete disregard for the fact that it's a live show and saying "hi" to chris daughtry while ryan introduces him

this weekend, john mayer made a surprise appearance at nyc's comedy cellar.* now, he's definitely a better musican than a comedian, but to be honest, he's not that bad. it's no "john mayer has a tv show" (which was a fantastic show. i don't care what anyone says). but a good effort. and fortunately for you, someone got part of his stand up on tape and put it on youtube. so although i'm sure they were praying for another michael richards incident, instead you get jokes about carrie underwood. check it out:

so after the tens of thousands of freakshows, karaoke singers, and talented kids, the american idol finale is finally upon us.

ahhh, it seems like yesterday i was laughing with (and at) ian benardo.

so tonight, it's jordin vs. blake. and like i mentioned last week, i'm not sure who i want to win. on one hand, i think blake is amazing and different and jordin is only 17 and she has plenty of time to become a superstar. on the other hand, jordin clearly has a talent and has a beautiful voice and could become the next kelly clarkson.

hmmm...and on the other hand, i'm waaaaaay too invested in this already. just watch their performances tonight. vote at that 877 number. watch tomorrow's stretched out (but sure to be awesome) 2-hour finale to see who wins.

recap: heroes "how to stop an exploding man"

*spoiler alert: if you did not watch last night's heroes, do not continue reading.*

so last night was the season one finale of heroes. we were promised that if they "saved the cheerleader" they would save the world. and i do have to say that although i thought the episode was good, the ending was a bit anti-climactic. there was no big super cliffhanger. i mean, hiro did teleport himself into the 15th century. but that doesn't make me squeal "omg i can't wait til next season".

so here's what happened:
-molly (the tracking system) did not die.
-the boring family (niki, micah, and DL) are still alive
-parkman was dumb enough to try and "shoot" sylar, and ended up getting his own bullets to the chest.
-hiro finally fufilled his destiny of stabbing sylar
-claire was reunited with mr. bennett, aka "noah"
-nathan came to peter's (and new york city's) rescue and flew away with him so he could explode in the sky, as opposed to manhattan

NOW, here are my questions:
-is parkman dead? he's kinda boring. now that peter absorbed his power, can they just kill him off?
-speaking of killing off characters, niki/dl storyline. please. spare me. we can save micah since he's a kid.
-who is this mystery bad guy molly speaks of that is "worse" than sylar? i smell a season 2 villain.
-did nathan die when peter exploded? is peter dead?
-how did NO ONE see sylar go down to the sewer. i'm assuming he's still alive.
-why did the writer's say reade street was on the lower east side? that's just lazy fact checking.
-and speaking of lazy, when peter was passed out on a nyc street, there was NO ONE ELSE walking down the street or sidewalk. really??
-what the hell is grandma petrelli's power????

all in all, a good finale. tonight, idol performances. tomorrow, idol results and 2-hour lost finale! eeek!

recap: the office- "the job- parts 1 and 2"

*spoiler alert- if you have NOT watched last night's finale episode, do not keep reading*

last night was the 3rd season finale of the office. at the beginning of the episode, we see michael in the lobby of dunder-mifflin corporate offices in new york. when cfo david wallace walks in, he looks surprised to see michael since his interview isn't until the next day. right off the bat, off to a funny start.

so here basically is a summary of the events that happened last night (summary from nbc):

the office is still buzzing from the events of their day at the beach. a job opening in corporate pits coworker against coworker as michael, jim, and karen all head to new york for final interviews. in scranton, dwight’s new regime institutes sweeping reforms, pam plays an interesting role and jan comes in with exciting news.

so here's what that means:

-scranton dunderlings tease pam about what she said at the beach, but she has no regrets

-michael, karen, and jim all go to ny to interview for a corporate job, which turns out to be jan's job as they are going to fire her

-michael tells jan, she flips out and michael "respectfully" withdraws his name for consideration. jan is fired and escorted out.

-dwight is picked by michael as his successor. needless to say the news goes to his head

-and jan's exciting news...wait for it...a boob job.

-creed has a blog titled creed thoughts.

the episode ended with RYAN getting the job (surprise twist!). and for the pam/jim cliffhanger...click here to watch.

Upfronts: CW and Fox do their thing

The CW is adding four new shows to it's fall line up, which means there were a few shows that didn't get to return next year. among one of the biggest fan disappointments is the cancellation of veronica mars. also cancelled: 7th heaven, all of us. among the surprising returning shows are supernatural (secret yay!) and one another season of the pussycat dolls.

over in FOX land, they ordered four new dramas, three new comedies, and three "unscripted" (i.e. reality of some sort) shows. one of those comedies is the rules for starting over starring rashida jones. does this mean a corporate fate for the office's karen?

side note: i know this has been a slow post day (i still haven't done a lost recap, which was GREAT). i'm swamped at work. my real jobby job.

after 13(?) bitchy girls, they finally narrowed it down to three last night. it was between renee (the older twenty-something mom), natasha (russian import, possible mail order bride), and jaslene (the young chicagoian latina with sassitude).

so at the first elimination, renee was told she photographed "too old" (which is exactly what one of my friends predicted). at when it came down to the wire, it was clear that jaslene was the better of her and natasha.

so yet another top model that will probably get mediocre modeling jobs for years to come. congrats!

recap: american idol - and then there were two...

well, let me take a moment to swallow my pride (and claire voyant skills) and say i was COMPLETELY WRONG on who i thought was going home. but i also said that if i had my way, it would be blake and jordin in the finals. so let's just take a moment to say YAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!!!!!! but now, more than ever, i'm kinda torn. i love blake, but i love jordin.

ahhhh, so last night we saw more of the contestant's home town visits. everyone got an honorary day in their home town. blake had cute, sentimental moments with his dad (he called him "daddy", awwww).

there was also a performance from last year's melinda doolittle (i.e. last year's 3rd place), elliott yamin. the funny thing is as i was watching it (for about five seconds before i decided to fast forward through it), i thought to myself "this sounds like music my mom would like". an hour later i talk to my mom on the phone and she says "who was that guy that performed? i like him. i might have to look for his cd." NO JOKE. at least elliott yamin has a fan base of 50-something moms (i love you mom).

so next week, the AI finale. and if last year's finale is any indication, it's going to be RI-DUNK-ULOUS!

well, lost has been on a winning streak if you ask me (especially after last week's MIND BLOWING episode). tonight sounds like it's going to keep the streak alive and set up a bunch of stuff for the two hour finale next week.

BET awards nominations

the BET award nominations were announced today (oh and they announced the tony award nods yesterday).

beyonce (surprise, surprise) tops the list of nominees with six nominations (one which SHOULD be for stupidest album title). other nominees include: jay-z (yay), jennifer hudson (still riding dreamgirls wave), ciara (zzzz), akon (smack that!) and gnarls barkley (honor to be nominated) earned three nominations each.

mo'nique will return as host for the event which will air live from the shrine auditorium in LA on june 26th.

also diana ross will receive the lifetime achievement award (the "your older than a mummy" award) and don cheadle will be awarded with a humanitarian (you are more selfless than other celebs) awards.

50 cent and T.I. will be among the performers.

now correct me, but has a shoot out or some sort of attack ever happened at the BET awards? the source awards, duh. but BET? has it happened before? because if the answer's "yes" then MAYBE i'll tune in.
